The Roots of Zion: The Connection Between Our Black and Jewish Communities with Pastor Dumisani Washington

Episode #19

Ilana Rachel Daniel welcomes Pastor Dumisani Washington, the Founder and CEO of the Institute for Black Solidarity with Israel (IBSI) for a deep dive into the enduring bond between our Black and Jewish communities. Connected by our historic experience of slavery, the depth of our abiding faith in G-d and family, and our journey for a truth that is larger than us all and connects us to each other; here is one of our most powerful and compelling conversations to date.

Dumisani Washington is the Founder and CEO of the Institute for Black Solidarity with Israel (IBSI), and the former Diversity Outreach Coordinator for the over 10 million member Christians United for Israel (CUFI). Dumisani is a pastor, professional musician—graduate of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music—and author whose latest book is the second edition of Zionism & the Black Church: Why Standing with Israel Will be a Defining Issue for Christians of Color in the 21st Century. He and his wife, Valerie, have been married 35 years and have six children and three grandchildren.

The Common Denominator
The Common Denominator seeks to fill in the gaps of theory and reality to demystify the realities of the Jews and the Jewish state, but not only. We face today the broader threats of terrorism on the rise worldwide, the deterioration of western civilization, leaderships who continuously seek to centralize their power and the reality of the human fallibilities that aid them.
Ours is research based in fact and reported on with nuance and testimony from real time and location in Southern Israel.
There’s nothing else like it around and we want you involved.
